I considered myself a friend Bro. Walkes and I am sure he considered me his friend through our communications which pre dated recognition. I wrote and published 2 separate landmark papers That were carried in several premier venues. I did however, offer them to Joseph to run them in PHYLAXIS for Prince Hall before being published elsewhere.
Much More Than A Word (A Way of Life) appeared in Vol. No XVII, No. IV, Fourth Quarter 1991.
The Hiramaic Legend, An Allegory of An Allegory (The Golden Grip of God) appeared in VOL. NO. XXVIV Fourth Quarter 2000.
These papers bent some out of shape because they rewrote Masonic Fact as Fiction. By profession, I am an accredited Criminal Investigator and in many ways, Brother Joseph and I were cut from the same bolt of cloth.
I turned Masonic history on its ear because the Master's Word is NOT Hebrew and Scotland is the ancestral home of our Craft. Some, still cannot swallow the truth without choking on it. "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up" and "You cannot teach an old dog new tricks" and, "Who cares!".
The results of my investigative reporting, was that:
(A). Several Masters petitioned to have me expelled from the Craft for consorting with Prince Hall.
(B). The York Rite Sovereign College of north America, awarded me their highest honor, The Gold Honor Award.
(C). My Grand Master sponsored me for the Royal Order of Scotland. Freemasonry's highest degree.
(D). Brother Walkes issued a Prince Hall Masonic Passport to me as a friend.
(E). I am still here.
In the need for Masonic education, I wrote several years ago to Prince Hall with the suggestion that the papers, in the interest of honesty to the Craft, be re published. I never received a response.
Perhaps historical truth and honesty are not important to men who joined under a different set of "facts" and circumstances.
After all, the KKK Grand Wizard Albert Pike's drivel, Morals and Dogma, is always being quoted by those who delve into Masonic sources. They accept that and start off on the wrong foot, to the detriment of the craft.
